We're situated at the VUE GRAND on Whiteman Street in SOUTHBANK, right opposite Crown Casino, Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre and the Whiteman/Clarendon Tram Stop! We're perfectly positioned to explore the convenient city-edge neighbourhood by tram or on foot with South Melbourne Market, the CBD, South Wharf, and state-of-the-art South Melbourne Primary School all nearby. Enjoy the premiere culture destination in Southbank. Visit the National Gallery of VIctoria, Melbourne Recital Centre, the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art and more. Experience city's finest restaurants include BearBrass on Southgate Ave, The Atlantic on Crown Towers, or a floating bar & restaurant called the Ponyfish Island. There are tons of things to do in the city itself which are mostly a quick stroll away. I've included most of my favorite places and more in my extensive "Local Recommendations Guidebook" on this listings page, so please feel free to check em' out for awesome things to do and eat in the CBD area. Needless to say, surrounded by trams, cabs, buses, getting around is not going to be a problem at all. The Whiteman/Clarendon Tram Stop is right at your door step! Myki is the card you will need for all public transport. When using a Myki card, please remember to always have sufficient value for your journey as hefty on the spot fines apply if you travel without correct fare or do not "tap on." Trips are about $3.80 for a 2-hour journey, but it all depends on what zones you travel in, if you are a concession card holder and if you buy a day pass. Myki cards can be topped up at any 7-11 Stores or petrol stations (BP on Clarendon just a 4min walk from us) or at many other shops that display the MYKI logo. MYKI machines are located at major tram stops, train stations and at convenience stores and news agents. Please be aware that cards can't be topped up on trams or trains any longer. Only a 2min walk to Europcar South Melbourne. (56-58 Clarendon St, Southbank VIC 3006, Australia) if you need to rent a car. Flinders St station is only a 15min walk away from us via Sandridge bridge. If you drive, we do have a FREE secured parking slot available for you. This is a private home ALL TO YOURSELF and you WON'T be sharing this with any strangers during your stay. A representative will provide you with the SELF CHECK-IN details. This pad accommodates 4 adults comfortably but a max of 5 overnight at no extra charge. The sleeping arrangement for the 5th adult would be on a 3-seater couch with extra quilts, pillows, sheets & covers.
