Stellenbosch is a university town in South Africa's Western Cape province. It's surrounded by the vineyards of the Cape Winelands and the mountainous nature reserves of Jonkershoek and Simonsberg. The town's oak-shaded streets are lined with cafes, boutiques and art galleries. Cape Dutch architecture gives a sense of South Africa's Dutch colonial history, as do the Village Museum's period houses and gardens. If you like markets and you are in Stellies during the weekend, this is the place for you. There are 4 main markets on Saturdays and one big one on Sundays. These markets are special due to the fact that they are hosted by beautiful wine estate.
You can move around using Ube. However, we suggest renting a car to enable you to have the freedom to discover Cape Town and the magical Winelands.
